I’ve been hard at work this fall on two closely related projects, both of which I’m very excited about. The first is a recital of four recent chamber works–two of them brand new, and still in the works–happening at Wellesley College’s Houghton Chapel on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 6pm. The centerpiece of the recital will be a new song cycle called GLASS HEART, plus a new electroacoustic song for voice and bassoon, plus some arrangements of my earlier pieces DOLLAR BEERS and NOW IS THE BLUE. I’m especially excited that this show will be performed by a dream team of some absolutely fantastic performers and close friends. Many more details to come!

The second project is a sound installation at Wellesley’s Davis Museum, for which the above recital will in part be a celebration. I can’t say too much about it now, just that it was inspired by Sylvia Plath’s early poetry (particularly her imagery of hearts and other human organs) and her adolescent experiences in Wellesley, MA. The opening will happen sometime in Feb 2013–again, more to come very soon!
