GLASS HEART AND OTHER STORIES

I’m thrilled to announce two exciting events coming up next week:

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 20: my audiovisual installation piece “GLASS HEART (BELLS FOR SYLVIA PLATH)” will open at the Davis Museum at Wellesley College. Inspired by Sylvia Plath’s poetry as well as the mesmerizing colors of Sol LeWitt, this piece is comprised of a group of interactive amplified bell jar instruments that sing and illuminate in response to human touch.

and:

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 23 at 5:30 PM: I will be giving a special concert of four of my recent chamber pieces, including the world premiere of my new song cycle “GLASS HEART (BELLS AND SONGS FOR SYLVIA PLATH),” which was composed in conjunction with my installation. Also on this program is the world premiere of “PILOT,” a new work composed for soprano P. Lucy McVeigh, and arrangements of two of my older works: “DOLLAR BEERS (REDONDO BEACH ’96)” and “NOW IS THE BLUE.”

Before this concert, please come to the Davis Museum to see my installation, and enjoy a brief pre-concert wine and cheese reception at 4:45pm in the gallery!

The concert will take place directly after this reception in Wellesley’s gorgeous Houghton Chapel, a short walk (and even shorter drive) from the museum (both are on Wellesley’s campus). Both events are free and open to the public!
